01 Privacy Policy

TotalRecalls is built with a local-first, privacy-by-design architecture: it runs entirely on your Windows PC, talks directly to the AI providers you already use, and never sees, hosts, stores, or transmits your conversations, session tokens, credentials, or downloads.

• No telemetry. No analytics, tracking pixels, crash reports, or usage data of any kind. No cookies on this website.
• Local state only. Sessions are stored on your PC, encrypted with Windows DPAPI (tied to your Windows user account). You can delete everything at any time.
• One external service: license verification. When you enter your license key, the app sends the key plus a pseudonymous machine identifier to our own license server at totalrecalls.app — never your content, name, email, or hardware serial. Our checkout processor is not involved in this check. It is best-effort (at most once per hour) and a stored Pro entitlement is never revoked because you are offline.
• Your rights. Access, correction, and deletion rights under Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, and the GDPR are addressed in the full policy — most are satisfied by design, since we hold no data.

02 Terms of Service

By downloading or using TotalRecalls (including the Free Tier), you agree to the full Terms. The essentials:

• License: a personal, single-user, non-transferable license to run the Software on up to 3 of your own devices. No redistribution, resale, or reverse engineering.
• Your data is yours: we claim no ownership of anything you download.
• Provider responsibility: you are responsible for using your own accounts in line with each provider's terms (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Qwen). We are not affiliated with any provider.
• Updates: the core app receives free updates for the life of the product; new add-ons are separate purchases and updated only if you buy them.
• No warranty / limited liability: the Software is provided "as is"; our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid.
• Quebec consumer rights apply where the law provides, and cannot be waived.
• Governing law: the Province of Quebec, Canada; exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montreal.

03 Refund Policy

TotalRecalls is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no recurring charges.

• No standard refund policy. We don't offer automatic refunds. That's what the Free Tier is for: you can download and test the app on your own chats before paying anything (3 providers, 5 conversations per download). Try before you buy.
• Case-by-case review. If you have a genuine issue, email [email protected] and we'll review it individually.
• Your statutory rights are preserved. Purchases are processed by our merchant of record (fulfilment processors). Quebec's right of cancellation for online purchases and all applicable consumer protection laws are never excluded or waived by this policy.
• License deactivation = refund. If a refund is approved, we deactivate your license key and the activation slot is freed. You lose access to Pro features; the Free Tier remains available.
